Something akin to a parlor game (where a couple gets their inner legs bound and they race 5 or so meters to the finish line) to the tune of “Eat For Two” by 10,000 Maniacs, Robinson’s Supermarket is holding its second Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run this coming July 12, 2009, Sunday at the Fort! I’m quite excited about this (I doubt if my partner, who’s waaaay faster than I am, is, too, though 😛 ). So how it goes is that you choose a partner and, sans the bound legs, you run either 5K or 10K (not 5M :P) to the finish line. This should be fun and interesting 😛 Registration is at PHP500.00 per pair (no discrimination here 😛 all sorts of, uhh, couplings are welcome :P) for 5K inclusive of 2 singlets and 2 loot bags…and PHP750 per pair for the 10K, inclusive, likewise, of 2 singlets and 2 lootbags! You can register at Robinson’s Supermarket Ermita, Galleria, BF Paranaque, Timog and Pioneer until July 5, 2009. For more info visit this link

looks like it's a lot of fun! :P

Finally, after a week of resting my knee, I got to run. Just a measly 2K, but it’s better than nothing 🙂 I’m kinda happy…although, I noticed a steep drop in my endurance (I couldn’t run again for more than 2 minutes 😦 ) Oh well…back to baseline…not a problem 🙂 Thing i gotta do now is try to avoid further injuries. Had to learn it the hard way. I can’t rush it. The more you push, the less you gain in the long run…I say this for those whose bodies just aren’t ready yet to be taken to the next level. Once you’ve established a good enough base, then I think pushing yourself would be beneficial…but unless you’ve done this well enough, you’re just laying yourself wide open to a myriad of injuries. I’ve had several people tell me to just take things slow, one step at a time, build a good base. But, well, what can I say? If there’s The Bull Runner, then there’s me, The Bull-HEADED Runner 😛 Don’t worry, though, if there’s one thing I don’t like doing, it’s repeating mistakes. So, here’s to more 2K’s, slower times and better knees 😛
